Teeth Whitening

Because stained teeth are a normal part of ageing, most of us will look in the mirror or browse photographs only to notice that our smiles are not quite as dazzling as they used to be. Even though darker teeth are a completely normal process, however, it doesn’t mean that you have to accept a yellow or brown smile as fact for the rest of your life.

Teeth whitening is efficient and affordable. It is one of the most common cosmetic treatments available today, and it’s a great way to give your smile a quick boost.

We can determine if teeth whitening will help you have a whiter smile after a consultation with either Dr Ben or Dr Clint. At Dr Ben Dunster’s dental clinic, located here in Hornsby, we offer both in-chair and take-home teeth whitening options to help you regain the brilliant smile of your youth.

Teeth whitening is always most effective immediately following a scale and polish since your cleaning will remove any of the surface stains that are dulling your teeth and make it possible for the whitening gel to come into direct contact with your enamel.

In-Chair Teeth Whitening in about an Hour

Zoom! teeth whitening systems allow us to treat patients in as little as an hour so you can walk out of our clinic with a smile that is several shades brighter.

We will apply a protective barrier to your gums and professional whitening gel to the surfaces of your teeth. We use a light to make the gel more effective and speed up the results. We can repeat the process up to three times in an hour to help you jump start your whitening treatment.

Many patients choose to combine our in-chair whitening and take-home systems to achieve the brightest results and a whiter smile for a lifetime.

Custom Take-Home Teeth Whitening

To create your custom teeth whitening trays, we will need to begin with impressions of your upper and lower teeth. Ben or Clint will discuss the professional whitening gel that will work best for you and provide you with enough to complete your initial treatment. Following the guidelines precisely will help you avoid sensitivity and achieve the best results.

  • Use only a small amount of gel per tooth.
  • Wear trays for an hour each day.
  • If your teeth feel sensitive, take some time off.

Keep your whitening trays in a safe place because you can use them to touch up your smile every few months or so when needed.

In the event that you have internal staining or a difficult to treat tooth, we also offer dental bonding and veneers to help you achieve your goals for your smile.
